How to kick website butt

It's been a long time coming, but maestrodesean.com is finally up and running. Good old trial-and-error helped me refine my design and create something that has the simplicity I've been trying to achieve for a long time. Now simple is quite misleading, however. Though it looks simple, there's more "horsepower" underneath that hood than I've ever put into one site. Thankfully the experience I've gained using various scripts and techniques on other sites, with the addition of one new trick called "iframe" that I stole from 50 Cent's site (though it certainly did not originate there so stole isn't the best word), worked in my favor. I just kept thinking of new ways to use all those tricks. I even managed to find a guestbook to attach to the site that looks like it will suit us just fine. I guess if I had to make a presentation about my abilities, this site would reflect the artistic side of me as well as the level of technological growth and understanding I have reached after now going on 6 years of playing around. Check the site out - but be warned that if you write anything inappropriate in the guestbook that I will make it go away rather quickly!

How to say goodbye to 23

Here I sit in the final hours of my 23rd year. Let's review:

Pros:
  • Got a new car, my '04 Malibu Maxx in Galaxy Silver Metallic
  • Gained substitute teaching experience in grades K-8, special ed, music, and band
  • Had a half dozen interviews or so, not including job fairs
  • Learned to play guitar basics
  • Met some nice girls
  • Lost those extra 8 pounds
  • Seem to have made my blood pressure get back to somewhat normal levels, though I can't say for certain if I am indeed correct
  • Added several new websites to my collection, did some new graphics work seen by many people

Cons:
  • Crashed a car, my dear 1992 Olds Eighty-Eight Royale
  • Didn't get a new permanent position yet
  • All my interviews ended in failure
  • Didn't get any farther than meeting some nice girls
  • Gambled at a casino for the first time and lost $2.75
  • Still living like a child
  • Lost my Word 2000
  • Still haven't finished cleaning my room since I returned from college
So, some nice good things, and some bad bad things. What can you do... still trying to figure that out (read previous post). I can only hope 24 treats me with no major shakeups in life. Pleeeeeeeeeeeease.
